Quarter Final of World Cup 2018: Brazil 1- 2 Belgium, The Samba Team Crashed Out

TIMESINDONESIA, RUSSIA – One of favorite teams of the World Cup 2018 champions had to back home. The Samba team, Brazil was downed by Belgium with a score of 1-2 in the quarter final match on Saturday (7/7/2018).

In the early of the game, it has been going on in high atmosphere. In fact, Brazil got the first golden opportunity. However, Samba team failed to break the deadlock when Thiago Silva's header just hit the goalpost.

Surprisingly, Belgium finally won first in the 13th minute when Kevin De Bruyne's corner kick was headed by Vincent Kompany then Fernandinho deflected the ball into the goal.

Therefore, Brazil tried to suppress continuously. But Belgium performed more dangerous through counter attack, and it gave the second goal for Belgium that is scored by De Bruyne at minute 31.

Unfortunately, Brazil was unable to catch up in the first half. So, Brazil continued its effort after the break. It was after the entry of Douglas Costa and Roberto Firmino.

The more offensive strategy was succesful. Brazil noted a number of golden opportunities. But the brilliant performance of Thibaut Courtois' goalkeeper could stop Brazil from scoring the goal.

However, Brazil finally was able to minimize its loss in 76 minutes with Renato Augusto's header after received a bait of Philippe Coutinho.

The goal really fires the spirit of Samba Team, but Courtois could thwart the efforts of Brazil, including  Coutinho and Neymar in the last minute.

Until the game ended, Brazil could not to equalize. So, Belgium will go ahead to semifinal of World Cup 2018 fighting against French.(*)
