The Belgian national team won the third place of World Cup 2018, after overthrowing England 2-0, at the St Petersburg Stadium, Russia, Saturday (14/07/2018).
RUSSIA – The Belgian national team won the third place of World Cup 2018, after overthrowing England 2-0, at the St Petersburg Stadium, Russia, Saturday (14/07/2018).
Belgium immediately opened the scoring in the early minutes, when the British defense was not perfect. The attack that was built by Nacer Chadli from the left side managed to go through the British defense. The ball that was fed to Thomas Meunier immediately it was shot and it scored in minute 4. At last Belgium won 1-0 just in the early minute of the first round.
Entering the second half, Belgium again added the score before the game was finish. Belgium which took the advantage of counter-attack can go through the British defense, Eden Hazard then added the score in 82 minutes.
It started from De Bruyne's attack that broke the England bait, Hazard who combed the left sector immediately shot beyond the reach of the goalkeeper. So, the score was 2-0.
Well, England increasingly attacked Belgium. However, unfortunately the effort was failed, after Belgium retained the position until the end of the game.
