“We prepared 6,000 portions of pecel pincuk. All of them are made by the residents from each neighborhood. Each neighborhood is involved in the competition to serve pecel to the visitors,” he said to TIMES Indonesia (timesindonesia.co.id) in the event of Festival Pecel on Sunday (11/11/2018).

According to Beno, pecel is a typical dish of Purbalingga that begins to be left out by the development of the modern culinary and other instant foods.

This fact inspired Beno to reintroduce pecel in the area of Purbalingga through Festival Pecel in the tourism location of Watukambang, Selakambang Village.

“Pecel is no longer people’s favorite fish due to the development of culinary world. Therefore, we reintroduce this dish made of vegetables to the people in Purbalingga,” he said.
