Fundraising for Victims in Southeast Sulawesi Supported by Miss Pageant

TIMESINDONESIA, SYDNEY – Fundraising for victims of the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Southeast Sulawesi received support from Miss Pageant of The World (POTW) or Miss Pageant 2018.

Gael Nicole Caneron, beautiful daughter of Indonesian-Scottish blood, has attended the event which was initiated by the Sydney Indonesian Community Council (ICC), NSW at Petersham Town Hall (18/11/2018).

"Gael conveyed empathy to the victims and was very enthusiastic to support this kind of charity activity," explained Endi Dharma, ICC President, Sydney NSW.

Endi added that the arrival of Miss Pageant as a support for 28 Indonesian community organizations in New South Wales. This organization turned out to have collected donations since last September.

Besides Miss Pageant 2018, this fundraising event also received support from Indonesia. They are the Bhayangkara Muhibbah team from West Java and Lampung Police and East Kalimantan. As well as two Indonesian singers Mell Shandy and Sanny, the former group Five Minutes.

Gael Nicole Caneron was born May 14, 1996 in Sydney Australia. She was elected as Miss Pageant 2018, representing Indonesia. The daughter of Sulianti Boeyanto, Allan Cameron, was named Miss Pageant in early September after setting aside participants from 30 countries in the world. Runner up comes from the Philippines and second from America.

POTW is an extension of the Miss Australian event, a multicultural contest that was inaugurated in 2015 in Sydney. Because of its success and international recognition and public demand to expand its coverage, POTW was formed to replace Miss Australian.

POTW aims to display activities that are not just beauty contests, by modernizing the concept into an activity that integrates health, beauty, charity, socio-economic.

Miss Pageant Gael is currently in her third year studying at the Faculty of Design, Fashion and Textiles Department at the University of Sydney. (*)
