The Mesmerizing Angklung Performance and Batik Fashion Show

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – In the Indonesian Charity Event for the earthquake victims in Palu was held in Petersham Town Hall, NSW, Australia, on Sunday, 18th November 2018. The performance of Muhibah Budaya Bhayangkari from Regional Police of West Java, Lampung, and East Kalimantan was successful. They performed dances, displayed traditional clothes fashion show, and played angklung.
Their angklung performance got amazing responses. The Indonesian people in Australia was very mesmerized with the performance of Muhibah Budaya Bhayangkari team in playing the traditional Indonesian musical instrument.

How long was the preparation of the performance by Muhibah Budaya Bhayangkari?
Generally, the preparation of art ambassadors was around one month. They practiced and prepared the musical instruments that would be brought to Australia. The art and culture ambassadors of this Bhayangkari was formed in 2018.
The angklung performance has got many thumbs up, especially the interactive angklung, is that right?
I am glad to hear the positive response. The angklung performance was Neng Geulis team from West Java Bhayangkari. The team brought three songs, namely, Mojang Priangan, Kopi Dangdut, and Havana. Meanwhile, the interactive angklung played Waltzing Mathilda, Can’t Help Falling in Love with You, and Bengawan Solo.
What was the training method of the angklung performance demonstrated in Sydney?
Neng Geulis team from West Java Bhayangkari used interactive program with hand sign method. The coach was Saung Angklung Udjo Team. We are really grateful for the amazing appreciation from Indonesian people in Sydney.
Not only the angklung performance, but the dances, music play, and traditional clothes fashion show got many praises.
The team from Lampung Bhayangkari was collaborating modern Bedana dance with the song of Bumi Lampung, and it was closed by the song of Bendera Merah Putih. They also sang the song of Meraih Bintang, which was the theme song of Asian Games, and they danced together with the song entitled Syantik from Badriyah.
East Kalimantan Bhayangkari performed Enggang Terbang Dance (Kancet Tebengang Madang), Sampe (the traditional musical instrument from Dayak Kenyah tribe), Tari Tunggal (Kancet Lasan) from Dayak Kenyah, and Wastra (weaved cloth from East Kalimantan) Fashion Show.
West Java Bhayangkari performed Arumba, the music titled Rumpun Bambu consisting of Gambang Rhythm, Gambang Melodi, Angklung Towel, and angklung. They also performed interactive angklung performance with the audience. (*)
