Wayang Orang Will Be Presented at 39th Cultural Dining Series, Hotel Tugu Malang

TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – The Tugu Hotel will soon conducted its 39th cultural dining series. This time this hotel will bring the wayang orang (human puppet theater) as a sign of their commitment to conserve the cultural heritage.

The show that will be held on February 15, 2019 will be performed by some actors from the Singamulangjaya and Padakanusa art studio entitled Karna Sang Kusuma.

The story will tell about a beautiful princess named Kunthi which conceived and given birth to Karna from her ear through the power of The God of Sun (Surya) without a husband.

Feeling distressed and ashamed Kunthi then neglect and abandoned her children and throw him to the ganga river but yet she named it as Karna son's of Surya. Luckily Karna was found by a nearby peasant named Adirata, and he willingly raised him as his son.

As the time goes, Kunthi married to a king named Pandhu and has 5 sons called Pandhawa. All of them were very talented on their own field. One if them is Arjuna. He is a young handsome prince and very talented in archery.

Meanwhile Karna also grown up to be a handsome guy that also very talented in archery. They both even went to the same archery school. There will be no one could defeat Arjuna's skill tho shoot the arrow except Karna.

Kurawa as the opposite team of Pandhawa very happy to see that someone able to defeat a pandhawa's crew. There then they take Karna as one of their rivalry and raised him on their side.

Year by year passed away, and the hostility between Pandawa and Kurawa grow bigger till there was a big war called Bharatayudha. And at that war of course Karna took Kurawa's side.

Kunthi was very sad to know that her own son will fight to each other. She persuaded him to fight with his brothers in the war but his love to his nation that raised him conquer all the love he had in this world.

And finally at the war he died in nobel way for defending his nation. Thus then where the title of the show taken, Karna Sang Kusuma (Karna the National Hero).
