The Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, The Indonesian Niagara Falls

The Tumpak Sewu Waterfall or so they called as Air Terjun Tumpak Sewu, or Coban sewu or Grojogan Sewu, is 120 meters in height and is a tiered waterfall.

Located in a narrow canyon 500 meters above the sea level, this waterfall is overshadowed by the Semeru Mountain, and use the water of Glidih River as it main source of water.

Though the water flow is not as big as The Niagara, but the scenery around this waterfall pass through beyond Niagara Falls. The green forest and the lovely sound of pecking waterfall bring a calm and peaceful ambiance.

As the Niagara Falls that straddle two country boarder between Canada and US State of New York. This waterfall also straddle between two cities Lumajang and Malang.

This waterfall also given the first place by the East Java government on the Anugerah wisata Jawa Timur 2018 (The East Java Tourism Award 2018). Along with it, Gunung Kelud Kediri Ecotourism got the second position and Watu Rumpak Madiun on the third place.

To access this waterfall you could take either private or public transportation. There are lots of buses heading to this place, they usually serve around 07.00 - 16.00.

Meanwhile, to challenge your nerve you could also enjoy some river rafting and offroading which you can find next to the waterfall site.
