During the Hari Raya Nyepi or Silence Day, most of Ogoh - ogoh artist flooded with orders. The Silence Day it self will be held on March 7-8, 2019.

DENPASAR During the Hari Raya Nyepi or Silence Day, most of Ogoh - ogoh artist flooded with orders. The Silence Day it self will be held on March 7-8, 2019.

Ogoh-ogoh are statues usually made of bamboo built for the Ngrupuk parade, which takes place on the eve prior to Silence day in Bali.

Putu Indra an Ogoh-ogoh artist explained that he got lots of orders from any place in Bali,including Nusa Penida, Buleleng, Klungkung, and several hotels in Kuta and Nusa Dua.

"We have made around 90 Ogoh-ogoh, and they are mostly an order from outside of Bali, like Surabaya, Kalimantan and Sumatera," he added.

The price range of Ogoh-ogoh itself begin from IDR 2,5 M to IDR 12 M depend on the size. And mostly people will orders 3 meters sized.

Usually he also take an order from abroad, like from Japan and Belgium. However, this Ogoh-ogoh is agood business investment especially on Silence Day or Hari Raya Nyepi. (*)
