JAKARTA Green peas is considered as a nutritious food and contain a fair amount of fiber and antioxidants. As any other peas, green peas also has lots of benefit to our body.

1. Maintaining your sugar level

According to a research on 2011 published by British Journal of Nutrition on a group of people, those who consume 50 grams of peas in a day for 28, will have lower risk of diabetes.

Furthermore, a research published on the same journal on 2012 shows that the low glycemic index (GI) rank of green peas makes them a diabetic-friendly food.

2. Lower the risk of kidney disease as the result from high blood pressure

Dr Rotimi Aluko, a food chemist at the University of Manitoba, Canada explained that hypertension or high blood pressure is a major risk factor for people with chronic kidney disease.Many patients progress to end-stage kidney disease and have to have dialysis or a kidney transplant.

Peas contain a healthy amount of protein, fiber, and vitamins and come in a "low-fat, cholesterol-free package. It could help people with kidney disease live longer by helping them maintain their blood pressure.

3. It may benefit digestion

Green peas contain eo much fiber, which has been shown to provide many benefits for digestive health.

Fiber feeds the good bacteria in your intestines, which keeps them healthy and prevents unhealthy bacteria from overpopulating.

This may reduce your risk of developing a few common gastrointestinal conditions, it will help food and waste pass more quickly through your digestive system 

4. High in antioxidant

Peas contain just about every vitamin and mineral you need, in addition to a significant amount of fiber.They are also rich in polyphenol antioxidants, which are likely responsible for many of their health benefits.

Without antioxidants our body could easily get struck by free radicals. It could increase the chance to get struck by cancer, Alzheimer, Parkinson, Atelosklerosis and many more. There then peas could help you to fight the free radicals.
