
TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Gout attacks come on suddenly, with sharp pain, often in a single joint. And it could be super annoying especially when it comes in the middle of the night.
Certain foods can increase the risk of gout attacks. These gouty foods contain chemicals called purines, which break down in the body to form uric acid. so how could we manage to make the purin gone or at least normal in our body?

1. Consume less purine food
The chief offenders are red meat, meat gravies, seafood, and alcohol (especially beer). Some vegetables also raise uric acid, such as beans, peas, lentils, spinach, asparagus, cauliflower, and mushrooms. High-fructose corn syrup has been linked to gout.
2. Consume more fruits like cherry and strawberry
Cherries lower uric acid levels and can prevent gout attack. Blueberries, blackberries, and other deeply pigmented berries are also helpful.
3. Drink enough water
Water is one of the best home remedies for gout. For starters, sincewater can serve as a joint lubricant, one who is at risk for gout should be sure to drink plenty of fluids. Make sure you consume healthy water whic is not contaminated by other chemical like sweetened water, or coke water.
4. Tidak lagi mengonsumsi alkohol
Minuman beralkohol ternyata juga bisa membuat risiko terkena penyakit asam urat kambuh. Selain itu, minuman ini juga bisa merusak organ-organ tubuh sehingga memang sebaiknya kita hindari.
5. Drink milk regularly
Studies show that drinking low fat milk and eating low fat dairy can reduce your uric acid levels and risk of a gout attack. The proteins found in milk promote excretion of uric acid in the urine.
6. Do regular exercise
Working out regularly will also help you lose weight, which is essential for people with gout. Excess weight increases the uric acid in your body, which contributes to gout. What’s more, losing weight will help reduce pain because you’ll have less stress on your joints.
7. Keep your weight at ideal level
Excessive weight will could increase your risk to get a gout. You better maintain your weight at ideal level so you will have less chance of getting gout. (*)
