TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTABlackheads are small bumps that appear due to pores becoming clogged with oil and dead skin. They’re a mild type of acne that usually form on the face, often where they’re most noticeable, such as on or around the nose, but they can also appear on the back, chest, neck, arms, and shoulders, most commonly in teens and pre-menstrual women.

According to Hello Sehat there are several ways to get rid of these blackheads. Here they are.

1. Wash your face at least twice a day

Although blackheads are not actually caused by dirt, gently wash your skin regularly to remove excess dirt and oil. This can help prevent blackheads from forming or clogging pores. Try to clean your face right after you wake and once after you got home from work.

2. Exfoliate your skin regularly

Dead skin can clog pores and cause blackheads. Gently exfoliating your skin on a regular basis may help clear dead skin and bacteria and could help prevent blackheads. Do not try to exfoliate active acne or blackhead sites as this will irritate already irritated skin.

3. Sea salt

Sea salt known to have anti bacteria agent which could get rid of the blackheads. Mix the salt with lemon water and scrub it especially on your face, nose, chin and forehead.

4. Pore Strips

Whether store bought or homemade, pore strips are quick, thorough and a very visible way to see blackheads go bye-bye. For some, the results really can be quite incredible and satisfying, but don’t get addicted because they’re not meant for daily use. Whether you use the strips for your nose (most common), forehead or chin, don’t use them more often than once every three days, with once a week as a good frequency.

5. Wear oil-free sunscreen

Just because you have oily or combination skin doesn't mean you should skimp on sunscreen. SPF products are crucial to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Experts recommend sticking to oil-free formulations that won't weigh down the skin or clog your pores.

6. Wear Aloe Vera gel

Aloe Vera has antibiotic properties and it soothes skin types. Fresh Aloe Vera gel is considered to be a vital component in removing blackheads. After application of Aloe Vera gel, one needs to rinse with lukewarm water.

7. Egg white

Paint the egg white onto blackhead-affected areas especially the nose and chin. Next, place a strip of a paper towel over the areas before brushing on another layer of egg white. Let this dry for about half an hour, then peel up and off.

8. Consume more vitamin C

Vitamin C is one good antioxidant which will fight the excess of oil in your skin and prevent your pores being clogged which will form blackheads. It will also give lots of nutrition for your skin and keep you stay fresh and beautiful.
