TIMESINDONESIA, MAGETAN – Huge Tumpeng or yellow cone-shaped rice was floated on the Telaga Sarangan or the Sarangan Lake Magetan as a sacrifice at the Gino Bau ceremony.
The ceremony was held by the local government of Magetan to conserve the local tradition and was held on Sunday (5/5/2019).

"The lake has given the local citizen with such benefit like irrigating their farm. The ceremony was their gratitude ti the God for this. We hope that this tradition could attract tourist to visit Magetan," Suprawoto, Magetan mayor said.
On this ceremony the huge and 2m tall tumpeng was floated and drowned in the lake. The tumpeng was being parade before its drowned. And then brought in to the middle of the lake using a boat.
Lots of tourist came to Magetan to watch the drowning tumpeng ceremony at Telaga Sarangan. This ceremony has become an annual ceremony which will be held by the local government. (*)
