The Legend of Gunung Merapi from Central Java

YOGYAKARTA – The Gunung Merapi or the Merapi Mountain is one popular mountain with its a active volcano. This mountain spread around in several city in Central Java like Magelang, Sleman, Klaten, and Boyolali.

Once upon a time taken from the old script of Java the Mountain was named Jamurdwipa and was bear by two sibling which work as a blacksmith especially for kris.

Regarding to the location which is a lil bit too South, and the Java island which tend to face the west which will make the island sink, all the God and Goddess agreed to dislocated the mountain a lil bit to the center of the island to balance the slope.

Unluckily the two blacksmith hasn't done their work and still have the furnace fired up. They asked the Gods for more time, but unluckily the good didnt gave it to them. They warned them about the dangerous of putting the Mountain on top of the furnace.

Will the furnace still fired up the mountain will be an active volcano and will be an eternal disaster for the island. And yet, you can see the Merapi Mountain or Gunung Merapi of Central Java still active right now. It event took hundreds of life on it last explosion. (*)
