10 Countries Joining the ASEAN Contemporary Dance Festival Yogyakarta

TIMESINDONESIA, YOGYAKARTA – The Universitas Sanata Darma (USD) or the Sanata Darma University Yogyakarta was appointed to be the host of ASEAN Contemporary Dance Festival. There are around 10 countries joining thus Festival.

The festival which was held by the USD together with ASEAN Secretariat and the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture was held on Saturday (13/7/2019). This festival was held at the Auditorium Driyarkara USD Yogyakarta.

Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapura, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippine, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand are the 10 countries that participated in this festival. Each of them sent their best dancers to perform on this Festival.

“Most of the dance performed are the contemporary one. Each country will perform their best dance and performance. But at the end... they all will collaborated in a dance," tge 4th Vice Rector of USD F.X Ouda Teda Ena, M.Pd., Ed.D said.

Still according to him, the ASEAN Contemporary Dance Festival which was held on the Universitas Sanata Darma (USD) auditorium has strengthen their intention to make cultures as one an important part of education.
