Reyogchestra: A Contemporary Culture of Reog Ponorogo

TIMESINDONESIA, PONOROGO – For Reog Ponorogo now has become more popular than it used to, several local youth of Ponorogo which happen to be a Reog artist try to combine the music with certain modern instruments. The blend between these traditional instruments versus the modern orchestra then so called as Reyogchestra.

"I try to increase our spirit of innovating new music through blending these traditional instrument with international one," Diky Kurniawan, the founder of Reyogchestra said ON Wednesday (30/10/2019).

Still according to him, this new branch of music has attracted several new talents to join with them. This music has started to spread around the country as well.

Meanwhile, he also hope that this newborn music will be attached on every people who listen to it and the local community especially. The Reyogchestra was also hope to be a reference for all Reog musician throughout the world.

In another hand, there were several issue come up while introducing this music to the community. "The different note, vocal, and the harmony complexity makes it a bit harder to be taught," Agung, Brand Marketing of Reyogchestra said.

The Reyogchestra band which blend the traditional instruments of Reog Ponorogo along with orchestra instruments was founded a year ago on 2018. This band introduce a contemporary and easy listening music which will attached your heart. (*)
