TIMESINDONESIA, TOKYOTokyo which is known as the center of technology has dozens of wonderful place to visit. This modern city will not only pamper you with their sophisticated technology but also several amazing tourist destinations such as Omoide Yokocho.

Omoide Yokhoco is a maze of narrow alleys close to the West Exit of Shinjuku Station. It stands in stark contrast to all the bright and clean modern environs of the station. You could find tiny restaurants and open barbecue food stalls spill their smoke, noise and greasy steam over alleys.

When you visit this place you will feel like you were thrown back to hundred years ago were king of Showa ruled. This place has traditional mini bars where lots of people will visit this place regularly after work and have some local wine (sakè). This habit so called as nomikai.

Beside the sakè you could also find local Japanese traditional food such as ramèn, yakisoba and many more. You don't need to be worry since the menu were also presented in English.

According to the folklore, in 1940's this place was set on fire and nothing left to save. The local community rebuilt the place and make it as a business area. There are around 70 mini bars you could choose if you visited this place.

This place is open daily at 16.00 local western time. The alley which is quite narrow will make you hardly enough to stretch out your arms. The archaic atmosphere and a thick Japanese culture at Omoide Yokocho will give you an authentic feeling of Tokyo and also being a true Japanese. (*)
