Synaptics: The Prediction of Car Ignition Using Fingerprint

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Synaptics tech industry predicted the evolution of car ignition in the future will change to a button with the fingerprint scanner system. 

The signs started from the abandonment of the use of conventional car keys for modern cars, into a key equipped with remote or immobilizer.

While the remote is inside of the range of activation, to ignite the car you only need to push a button on the dashboard.

This technology is one of the evolution forms of the car ignition system. But this system is not completely safe yet.

Some proof can be found in some cases of car theft; the thief is somehow still able to break into the cars equipped with this technology.

For that reason, the Synaptics tech industry predicted the evolution of car ignition in the future will change to the button with a fingerprint scanner.
“Start button and remote will not be used forever, it will change to a button with a fingerprint scanner,” said the Synaptics vice president, Godfrey Cheng, as quoted by Carscoops.

“Even more, it might change to the use of facial recognition, sound recognition, or the other senses,” he added.

This idea is based on smartphones technology, which already equipped with such capabilities. So it is no longer impossible to implement the technology for cars.

That is the reason behind the Synaptics tech industry prediction about the evolution of the car ignition system in the future that will change to the use of the fingerprint scanner.(*)
