Visit Pasar Kampung Osing Banyuwangi and Get an Exotic Taste of Local Food

TIMESINDONESIA, BANYUWANGI – As to follow the government program on community-based policy, the local government of Banyuwangi keep supporting the Pasar Kampung Osing (Osing Folks Market) to grow.

This market took the local community of Kemiren, Glagah, Banyuwangi to be an entrepreneur. They made several local ethnic snack and cake. You could also get several exotic food with an exotic taste in this market.

Lupis Lanun, Kucur, Klepon (Tapioca Ball cake), Pecel Pitik (Chicken with Peanit Sauce), Ayam Kesrut, Botok Tawon (spicy Bee hive) , Sayur Semanggi, Sego Cawuk, Sate Kul (Snail satay) could be tasted in this place.

This place is open only on Sunday from 06.00-10.00 local western time. Never hope to find lots of stall lining up on the street since the local community used their own yard and terrace as their place to open their shop.

This place which was officially opened on January 2018 now has around 50 people joining the folks market and offer their menus.

"I was a street food woman and offered my food by knocking one door to another. But now, this place has helped me by giving me a place for my shop and a better income," Sri, one of the food stall owner at Pasar Kampung Osing Banyuwangi said. (*)
