Kampung Pelangi Semarang: a Moth has Turned Into a Butterfly

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Kampung Pelangi which located in RW 3, 4 Randusari, Semarang now has turned into a beautiful place to see. This place were merely just a scattered house next to the river bank which make the town look bad.

However, after its was renovated and the roof were painted in colorful way, the Kampung (village) which was officially opened on May 2nd 2017 makes the surrounding area more pleasant to see.

"The kampung was renovated after the florists and the folks market around the Kampung were revitalized. Now its look even prettier after being renovated," Slamet Widodo, the Chief of local community said.

Till now there has been around 480 houses painted in cheerful color. These shiny houses attract lots of visitor to come to this place daily. However, the surge of the visitor been decreased especially for the last year 2019.

The local management trying to pursue the government to give more attention to Kampung Pelangi of Semarang. The management hope that the local government will give their hand on marketing side so the Kampung will be known better by the world. (*)
