TIMESINDONESIA, DEMAK – There is something amazing about Demak, beside its well known with it religious tourism this place also well known with its culinary product, fried grasshopper.
Some people will take it as pest in the rice field. But for Demak community this creature is such a delicious snack. It is also believed to be a good source of energy.

You could find lots of people sell this snack along Krangawen area. "I think this is the most strategic places to display my grasshopper," Mulyono said while displaying his fried grasshopper on Saturday (28/3/2020).
Still according to him, he got the grasshopper from a distributor in Grobogan area. He bough it for IDR 130 K/kg. In addition, he could sell around 13kg to 20 kg of grasshopper in a day.
He usually packed the fried grasshopper in 10 pieces per pack that you can get for around IDR 10 K. With this, he could get a gross profit for around IDR 210 K each day. (*)
