Over-the-Moon Mooncake by Shangri-La Hotel in the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

TIMESINDONESIA, SURABAYA – Shangri-La Hotel is celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival by launching Over-the-Moon Mooncake series.

 “Over the Moon” tells about the enchanting journey of the Shangri-La’s Moon Rabbit to share the amazing and delightful moments of Mid-Autumn Festival to people.

When the moon is at its biggest and brightest, the Moon Rabbit will share love and blessings in form of mooncakes to families.

The pastry chef team of Shangri-La Hotel has planned and prepared four exclusive, delicious mooncake series for this year presented in a gorgeous packaging.

 “We hope our mooncakes can be the perfect gift for anyone, like friends, colleagues, and beloved ones,” said Kamal Silva, the Director of Food & Beverage of Shangri-La Hotel.

Shangri-La Hotel offers four different series of mooncake: Signature, Contemporary, Kids, and Rainbow Thousand Layer.

Signature series offers traditionally baked mooncake with various fillings, such as green tea, pandan, durian, white lotus, red lotus, and red bean paste. These most-favorite flavors are created by the talented chefs of Shangri-La Hotel.

Contemporary series is the newest series of this year. It consist of two types of mooncakes, baked mooncakes and fondant mooncakes. The fillings are the combination of two flavors, such as white lotus and taro, durian and pineapple, panda paste with sesame and mashed beans.

Still in the same series, you can also enjoy a delicious and healthier mooncakes with beans fillings.

Kids series is made exclusively for children. This series of mooncake has various interesting bright colors from natural food coloring, such as taro to create purple food coloring and carrot for orange color.

This series also offers various flavors that are big hits for kids, such as Nutella, mung bean paste, and sweet potato.

The last series is Rainbow Thousand Layer. It is a moon-shaped cake with rainbow colors made of baked puff pastry layers.
