Enjoy Traditional Javanese Ambience at Kedai Mamo Malang

TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – A nice old Javanese ambience, traditional Javanese architecture, squeaky door which has been patched for ages could be a nice view you could have at Kedai Mamo Malang. Kedai Mamo is a local café which serve local taste of delicacy.

Located at Tulusbesar, Tumpang, Malang, East Java, this place was formerly a dance gallery. This place was known to be Mangun Darmo 8 Kemulan art gallery.

“The name of the café was a portmanteau to its original name of the gallery. We just short it off to make it sound easy listening,” Rendra Setya Nishar Dewantara,the Manager of Kedai Mamo said.

The main building of the café was all made of wood. Wooden wall, wooden pillars with traditional Javanese ornaments patched here and there make the customers gone through a time travel.

A warm light and the green garden supporting the nice old Javanese ambience the café has. You could also choose an outdoor area where the table seated around the Bayan tree. This place located uphill so you could enjoy the nice ambience of local village down there from the café.

Some local taste of food and beverage such as wedang uwuh, ginger alle, sticky rice with coconut powder with various topping could be found at Kedai Mamo Malang. (*)
