“Perpera decision is final.Papua is part of Indonesia,” he said in a video pposted by TIMES Indonesia on Sunday (15/11/2020). Pendapat Rakyat (Perpera) was like a voting. The decision taken was made by a major vote in it.
Yet, lately an issue rose that there was a defect on the decision. Several local community would claim to have another self-determination option.
Yanto Eluay is the son of Dortheys Hiyo Eluay which happened to take a part at Perpera in 1969. It broke his father’s heart that now some people still believe in Papua Merdeka (Freedom for Papua) community.
“I ask everyone who stills joining Papua Merdeka or those communities which demand for Papua freedom to stop this nonsense,” Yanto Eluay said.
Yanto Eluay also said that it’s better for them to think of developing Papua instead of creating some riots that will only give them some disadvantages. “Let’s end this and go back to our ideology, Pancasila,” Yanto said. (*)
