TIMESINDONESIA, PAPUA – Jembatan Murib, the Chief of Dani Tribe at Puncak Ilaga, Papua, addressed the local communities to stay with Indonesia instead of joining Free Papua Movement. From what he knows, the Indonesian government has given a good care of them till these days.
He also said that the government has helped them in developing the area from the infrastructure to educational aspects. They have given a new hope for Papua to have a better world under Indonesian administration.

Lots of Papuan has taken a role in politics either in the area or somewhere else in the country. Lots of them gave show their dignity and remarks towards their love to the country.
"I, Jembatan Murib as the Chief of the Dani Tribe of Puncak Ilaga Regency, ask the community to stick to the sovereignty of Republic of Indonesia," Jembatan Murib said on November 24 2020 during a meeting with all the public figure and the local community.
He also stated his gratitude towards police and army force that has taking good care of the local’s safe and secure. He was so sorry towards all the riots and kill toward the local community these days.
Several others Chief of Tribe of Papua supported Jembatan Murid’s decision. They even rejected the free Papua Movement coming to their place. “once of family was shot and killed by the OPM (Free Papua Movement), and we can’t have them at our place,” the Chief said.
In addition, one of the local community that doesn’t want his name to be revealed said that OPM will kill them without thinking twice if they happened to reject to do the same thing as they wish.
For your consideration, there have been 5 people killed recently in Papua by unidentified person. Yet, the local think that it was one of Free Papua Movement (OPM) ways to make some chaos in the area and defect Indonesia. (*)
