MALANG – If you feel like to know more about the history of Majapahit Kingdom then Sapto Temple of Bayem Tourism Village could be a perfect alternative to go. This place is located at Kassembon, Malang, East Java.
You could reach this place within 54 kilometres from batu city centre. You could take any vehicle you have for the main access to this this place has been quite well.
This temple is about 500 meters square wide. This temple surrounded by lush green trees as its borders towards the area. There is nothing that tells about the history of the temple except the reliefs.
Hear said, this temple was built by someone from Majapahit when he happened to pass by the area.
That person would like to leave a sign that there was his presence at that place by building the temple.
There are 6 statues with severe conditions at the Eastern part of the temple. It was estimated that there were 7 of them which made this temple called as Sapto (Seven).
The condition around the temple were not far from the statue, some of it has been renovated and lost the real essence. The floor has been replaced with cement and some of the wall has been ruined left nothing but a dust.
Sapto Temple of Bayem Tourism Village is one of the two temples build around Mount Kelud. The other one is Batok Temple. The two believed to be the key holder to Mount Kelud. Both are located around the eruption line which was presumed to be the main cause of damage of the temples. (*)
