TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – TIMES Indonesia Award 2020 comes back with a new topic this year. TIMES Indonesia Award which has been conducted for the 2nd time put “Patriotism and Social Awareness during Covid-19,” as its main theme.

The theme was taken for a reason. The pandemic that struck the country has made everything topsey turvey including in economic, politic, social, culture and patriotism matter. Some groups also showing up and swing the country with intolerance act and racial issue.

However, all those issue are manageable and could be taken in control gradually with a strong wind of patriotism and a high level of social awareness. Thus makes Indonesian gathered hand in hand to face all those issues together.

During this time, there are lots of public figure who willing to stand forward and take a first step to help the country fighting the issue. Those people have given their best and for the country and appreciated with greatest respect. Yet, TIMES Indonesia needs to find one person to take the award.

Several public figures in the country have been choosen to receive the Award. Here are the names of the winner of TIMES Indonesia Award 2020.

Joko Widodo is the President of Indonesia. It his second round leading the country. He faces lots of obstacle during his leadership yet the worse he had is this pandemic and the ongoing crisis. The racial and secularism issue has created another situation to be handled. Yet he slowly managed to tackle all those obstacles and bring the country back to its glory.

His position and dedication as the Head of Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management and the Head of Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force has made Doni Manardo chosen to take this award. He even chooses to stay at his office and spend his night with his works during to make sure everything runs well and the community stays calm and alarmed of this pandemic issue.

Her career in politic and her effort to keep the integrity of the country during this hard time of the pandemic and all racial and secularism issue has made her worth the award. During 2020, she has trid her best to keep the political situation in the country stay calm and goes smoothly from her desk.

The Ministry of Culture and Education Nadiem Anwar Makarim has the same important role during this pandemic especially in the educational aspect. Pol Gen Idham Aziz will be retired soon at the end of Jnuary 2020. He is the one who catch the international terrorist Dr. Azahari in 2005. In 2020, a year before he retired, he faces the hardest obstacle during his career, the pandemic and the racial and secularism issue. Yet he keeps showing his capability as the number one person in the Police.

Habib Luthfi bin Yahya is one respected Muslim religious leader in the country. He is also one of 500 most respected religious leaders in the world. He is now appointed as one of the Advisory Council members for his knowledge and wise thoughts. This makes TIMES Indonesia grants him such award.

Not only in the US, he also spread his thoughts to the world through his speechs. He also acknowledges people more about Indonesia and the Muslims in the country. About how beautiful is the mulim community lives side to side with nanother community in Indonesia.

His dedication to the country especially in educational aspects during his life has made him well respected till now. He was once appointed as the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Ministry of Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs, the member of Advisory Council, and also the Respected Prof. of UIN Malang.

Didik Prasetyo a.k.a Didi Kempot is an artist. He died on May 5 2020. As a musician he used to write a song and sing it with campursari music (a local tradisional music) and in Javanese language. His songs mostly are sentimental ones. No wonder he was called as The Lord of Broken Heart. He has millions of fanatic fans that gone crazy about him and his songs. He lifts Campursari to another level. That what makes him worth the award.

He loved to talk about unity in diversity, integrity and patriotism and took all his students to go with it. During his life, he had such remarkable stories to tell to the world. Teddy Sugianto the Head of Perhimpunan Indonesia-Tionghoa (INTI) or Indo-Chinese Community has such a remarkable track during his life to reunite and strengthen the bound between Chinese descendants and the local community especially during this pandemic.

He is also one respeced religious leader in the country. Hear said he is related by blood to Prophet Muhammad. He never hesitates to critize those people who challenge the integrity of the country. He has such a good contribution during this pandemic. As one Muslim religious leader, he even come to the Christians’ house nearby and shares some food and gives them some donations during this Chirtsmas.

Nanny Hadi Tjahjanto, the wife of TNI commander Hadi Tjahjanto has such a good intentions to help the local enterpreneurs and MSMe to grow. She creates a shopping app named Ladara. Through this app she would like to help the local enterpreneurs and MSMe especially those army’s wifes to distribute and display their products on the app.

They also become one of the founders of Kampung Tangguh or Indonesian Blessing Box.

Navy has such a great role in taking all those volunteer of health workers to Wisma Atlet (the Athlete Village) which now turned into Covid-19 hospital. They gave the volunteer a special reward of an easy access to join the navy if they would like to be one for the reward. The also help to ship some donation to another area of the country which could only be reach by sea.
