Agrapana Village, the Place to Find Japan in Bondowoso

TIMESINDONESIA, BONDOWOSO – Good news for the local community of Bondowoso, East Java. Now, there is a new tourism destination in Sumber Kalong Village, Wonosari sub-district where you can find a Japanese-themed tourist attraction. It's the Agrapana Village.

Agrapana Village had just been officially opened in early January 2022. This tourist attraction is managed by Village-Owned Enterprises (Bumdes) and Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis).

Actually, this tourist attraction had been planned to launch in 2019. Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the establishment should be put in a halt until the end of 2021. 

Agrapana tourist attraction is 11-kilometer away from Alun-alun RBA Ki Ronggo, around 17-minute away by two-wheeled vehicles or 20-minute away by four-wheeled vehicles. 

The Head of Pokdarwis of Sumber Kalong Village, who is also the organizer of Agrapana, Haris, said that this tourist attraction has been officially opened with a different concept. 

According to Haris, this tourist attraction only offered culinary tourism, and there was no entrance fee. 

However, the visitors kept increasing in number, which made the organizer come up with other plans to add some selfie spots and any other supporting facilities, such as Japanese-themed selfie spots. 

This Japanese-themed selfie spot is a kind of innovation to attract more visitors. 

“The visitors, especially the millennials, will like our tourist attraction as it has Instagram-worthy selfie spots,” Haris stated. 

There are artificial Cherry Blossom trees lining up the area. Here, you may also rent the traditional Japanese clothing, Yukata and Kimono. 

The Japanese-themed selfie spots include artificial Cherry Blossom trees, small boats with floral ornaments and gazebo on water. 

They also provide water balls in which a visitor can walk across the surface of water for 10 minutes, for only IDR 5,000

Agrapana tourist attraction also provides various cuisines so that the visitors can have an enjoyable culinary tourism. (*)
