TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – Food has become one tourist attraction that can be denied has enchanted people to memorize the taste of the city they gone through. And Malang has such an authentic dishes they called as Tahu Lontong Lonceng. This dish will make you willing to comeback to this cold climate city. 

Tahu lontong is a dish made of rice cake and half fried diced tofu covered with local typical spicy peanut sauce with spread of raw cabbage and cilantro. Some local sweet soy sauce will also be added to top the taste of.

The tahu lontong lonceng was first established in 1935. The name lonceng which literally means bell in english was taken from the first place where the food shop was established. The food shop were formerly built under the Dutch made bell tower which become its characteristics till now.

What makes this dish more special than other tahu lontong was because the owner stay on their line to create the ingredients on their own. "We use the best ingredients. We made our own tofu and soy sauce. All without preservatives and chemical color," Dewi, the daughter in-law of the owner of tahu lontong lonceng said.

This food shop focuses on three main signature dishes, the tahu lontong, tahu telor with lontong or rice cake and tahu telor with rice. Some crackers like krupuk emping, krupk palembang, krupuk tengiri, and kripuk bawang could also be ordered in this food shop to elevate the taste. 

Meanwhile, typical food shop beverages like tea, coffee, and orange juice, soda milk and more. Tahu Lontong Lonceng is one worth to visit food shop whenever you step your feet in Malang. (*)
