Tear Gas Victims of Kanjuruhan Stadium and Her Recovery Story

TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – The soccer tragedy in Kanjuruhan stadium still leaves some pain for the victims. There were around 33 more people with severe injuries charged in the local hospital. Some of them with minor and medium injuries were treated at home. Just like Kevia Ainur Rohma, a fanatic fan of Arema.
Kevia who lives in Arjowinangun, Kedungkandang, Malang happened to be at the stadium when the accident happened. This 18-year-old girl encounters the tear gas on the incident when she was at the gate 14 that makes her eyes irritated until now.

Her eyes red and swollen, her hand stiff and couldn't be moved, as well as her leg was broken. She couldn’t do a normal activity and still has blurry vision.
She also seen the police released the tear gas to those people who run for gate 12 and 13. She finally managed to get out of the stadium through gate 13 though she had to have a close encounter with another audience who willing to go out of the stadium as well.
Her friend trying to grab her and safe her. The friend asked her to try to get out from gate 14 and grab her hand, but unfortunately her feet got stuck on the fence. And there she got her leg injured.
"Gate 13 was overcrowded back then, so I went to gate 14, I slipped right next to the restroom. And when I was in the hospital the only gave me some oxygen," Kevia said on Tuesday (11/10/2022).

Kevia also said that she kept getting some respiratory issue even 3 days after the tragedy. Her eyes turned to purple for severe irritation and now it turns red. Doctor said it was because there was some hemorrhage.
"I couldn’t breathe normal for three days and there was some rush in my eyes, feel like dust of sands. It burns,
Triwah, her mother take care of her during this time. She barely couldn’t do her activities at all. Triwah also said how she was shocked to hear the news about the soccer tragedy. She was worried about her daughter. But finally, at night some group of fanatic fans of Arema brought her daughter home.
The next day together with her husband she took Kevia to Gadang Hospital. At first, she had to spend some money from her own pocket. But then, few days after, some health professional from the local clinic came to their house to compensate everything that they have spent for the treatment.
"Doctor said her lung and her bone were ok. But three days ago, she couldn't move just like a severe injury, but now only her finger that stiff still. May be because the trauma," Triwah said.
Triwah explained that they planned to bring Kevia to physiotherapist. The girl who sits on the first year of college at Widyatama University still wanted to fight and get her day-to-day activities back like she used to before she encounters the soccer tragedy in Kanjuruhan Stadium.
