The Total Number of Victims for Soccer Tragedy in Kanjuruhan Reach 737 People

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – The total number of victims from soccer tragedy in Kanjuruhan Stadium Malang keeps growing day by day. Up until Wednesday (12/10/2022) there 737 listed as the victims including 132 people died and 605 others injured.

Around 12 of them had fatal injuries and still being treated in the hospital. The Head of Health Department of Malang Wiyanto Wijoyo said that the number of victims especially those died has been validated by the doctor in province police resort.

"The number of victims has been validated by the Province Health Department, Malang Health Department, Batu Health Department, and the Health Professional Police for East Java Resort," dr Wiyanto said. 

Meanwhile, towards the numerous numbers of those injured by the tear gas especially for the irritation, he said that the infection could be cured.  Though it will take several times and may be a month. 

"I have seen some hemorrhage in their eyes. And as you can all see, their eyes being red. And its from the hemorrhage," he added.

Wiyanto haven't had sometimes to check the condition in the optometrist clinic himself. He still couldn't figure out the number of victims coming to the clinic for treatment with their eyes.  

"As the Mayor of Malang said that those victims especially with eyes irritation could check themselves at the nearest health facilities or optometrist fro free. let's say in Kepanjen, Kanjuruhan Hospital, and Kepanjen Eye Center," he added. 

Wiyanto and the crew vowed to give the latest update about the number of victims related to thesoccer tragedy in Kanjuruhan Stadium Malang to he community. He also appealed for those who have been treated at home to immediately seek for professional help at the local hospital if they need to. (*)
