TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – East Java Regional Police and the Health Department of Malang on press conference related to the growing number of victims on soccer tragedy at Kanjuruhan Stadium. The conference was held at the crisis center of Helath Department of Malang on Thrusday late afternoon (13/10/2022).
The press conference was attended by the Chief of Health Professional of East Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol dr H Erwin Zainul Hakim and the Chief of PR of East Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Dirmanto.

From the Health Department of Malang they have the Chief of the Health Department himself dr Wiyanto Wijoyo. Wijoyo happened to reeveal the newest update about the growing number of victims at soccer tragedy in Kanjuruhan stadium.
"The data is valid and fixed, and we have discussed this with the team of health professional of East Java Regional Police," Wijoyo started the conference with some explanation about what have happened behind the scenes.
during this occasion he said that there were some additional numbers on the injured victims but not on the death. There were around 132 people died and 596 with minor injuries and 26 of them with severe one.
"The total number of victims reached 754 people. The number keep getting fixation for those who had minor to severe injuries. It's all because some of them just decided to go to the nearest clinic or health facilities," Wijoyo said.
Wijjoyo also said that this is not the end. They will keep updating the number for some of them has not been listed for they were just went to the local clinic and when they comeback for further treatment they just report themselves as the victims of the soccer tragedy, including those who went to the appointed local optometrist.
Meanwhile the Chief of Health professional of East Java Regional Police said that they had some obstacle in collecting the right data. "Just like on those private hospital with manual data input. When we get them and we just knew that they were already listed on our data," Erwin said.
Erwin also explained that for the number of victims dies has been fixed. "Together with the local government, we do gather some data from the local villages or districts. And we match and fixed we the data we have," he added.
Erwin also revealed that there have been 2 families proposed for autopsy process towards their deceased beloved body. The families of the deceased from the soccer tragedy at Kanjuruhan worked together with the local forensic for this issue. (*)
