TIMESINDONESIA, DENPASAR – Luhut Binsat Pandjaitan the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment said that climate changes has become an important issue for the world to discuss. On G20 Indonesia he said that this issues couldn't be ignored anymore.

"Indonesia has an important role to play in avoiding the worse impact (of climate change) on our country, our people and the environment," he said during a press conference on Tuesday (15/11/2022)

He emphasized that the country will stay committed toward a low carb economy, and that energy transition is a key to cope with it. Thus then without sacrificing the economy development to create a much more sustainable economy.

Still according to him Indonesia has made such a move by taking the leaders of international partnership group to deal with energy transition. In this case, with the help of US and Japan Indonesia has managed to keep their plan in line.

To support the program, the country has prepared around $ 20 Billion from public and private finance to run the program for at least 3-5 years a head.
In this case, Indonesia will work together with mutual cooperation including world bank and international bank for fund. within six months Indonesia will work to produce comprehensive investment plan for the energy transition.

Last but not least, Luhut Binsar also said on G20 Indonesia that he will apply some policy to achieve  sustainable development to create a sustainable world for the future generation. (*)
