Social Responsibility Becomes the Biggest Consideration for Rais Aam PBNU

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Rais Aam Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) or the Head of PBNU KH Miftachul Akhyar said that the organization will stand to support the coming back of moral sense in the community. This was also to support the raise of social responsibility between muslims.

This statement was said during Muktamar Internasional Fikih Peradaban I or the International Civiization Fiqh I Assembly at Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya, East Java, on Monday (6/2/2023).

"NU in particular would like to bring back the moral sense of muslims. Not only with some knowledge but also action, and create a positive public opinion about social responsibillity," Akhyar said during the occasion. 

Akhyar who also familiar to be called as Kiai Miftach explained that those actins must be done immediately. This was regarding to the misunderstanding towards individual freedom concept in society which lead to social responsibility negligence. 

"We all have seen it's coming. The Individual freedom in negative way from a false understanding," the man who became the Director of Miftachussunnah Islamic Boarding School of Surabaya said.

Kiai Miftach also said that Islamic culture must be rebuild by avoiding this kind of freedom character. He also said that muslim needs to put jihad and ijtihad as one complete understanding about Islam. 

He also feel sorry for the inclusiveness of the muslim towards civilization and intelligence. Even they have shown some regression which was away of a good civilization. And this will only be  chance for western culture to tackle all the good from muslim. 

The Muktamar Internasional Fikih Peradaban I was officially opens by vice president KH Ma'ruf Amin. There were around 15 keynote speakers invited to enlighten the participants. This event was followed by hundreds of scholars from around the world.

This assembly was a chain event from the R20 Meeting which was held in Bali several months ago. It was held at the same moment with the 100 years celebration of NU which will be held at Gelora Delta Stadium Sidoarjo by Tuesday (7/2/2023).

The Head of PBNU or Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama KH Yahya Cholil Staquf expects that this event will bring this topic back in the global contexts. "It was aimed to initiate a discussion about what kind of civilization we want for the future," he said. (*)
