Top 14 Best Tourism Villages in East Sumba to Visit during Holiday

TIMESINDONESIA, SUMBA TIMUR – The local government of East Sumba declared its new 14 tourism villages for their new tourist destination. This good news was stated by Secretary of Tourism Department of East Sumba, Risparia Ranggambani in Monday (26/3/2023). 

Her statement was based on the Regent's decree which was aimed to create a sustainable tourism. This was also aimed to raise the local wisdom and bring a good stance to the local economy.

"It was to preserve the local culture, bring up the local potential especially in economy, and highlight the local characteristics. Here with it the 14 villages named their potential spots for tourism," Risparia said. 

The 14 Tourism Villages in East Sumba and What It has to Offer 

Still according to her, some of the torusim village was mainly highlight its natural phenomenon and attractions. They highlight the local nature and turn it into a magical land for the tourists to visit. Those tourism villages are the Pambotanjara at Waingapu, the Tandulajangga at Nggaha Ori Angu and Kadumbul at Pandawai. 

However, there are some tourism village which rely on their cultural potential. Those are the Watuhadang at Umalulu, the Mondu at Kanatang, Kaliuda at Pahunga Lodu, Rindi at Rindi,  Lambanapu, Prailiu and Malumbi at Kambera, and Matawai at Waingapu. 

Several villages also highlight their off shore potential which offer the beauty of local nature. Let's say Laijanji of Wulla Wejelu, Tarimbang of Tabundung and Praimadita of Karera. This places will bring you the exotic oceanic view to see. 

The New Local Potential of the Tourism Village 

"With this being said the local community were expected to be able to find out the local potential forntoyrism and alsograb any chance they could especially for the economic sectors," Risparia added. 

In addition, the lady also said that the new status will bring a good vibe towards the village public facilities including a better road access and some more others. This will give more benefit towards the local and bring them more comforts. 

"We hope that these new tourism villages of East Sumba will bring more positive values towards their own places and raise the social living condition through the raise of economy," the lady ended. (*)
