Top 3 Themed Villages in Malang has Attracted more Visitors

MALANG Malang, a small city in East Java as well one regency in this province has been known for its themed villages. And during this period of time the city has flooded with the surge of visitors either for domestic or foreign tourist. The raising of number of tourist to this beautiful cold climate place has been started since the beginning of this year.

According to the data recorded by the Association of Themed Village Tourism in Malang, on regular days, the average number of visitors to several themed villages ranges from 100 to 150 people per day. However, on weekends and holidays the number of visitors can reach up to 400 people per day.

This number is a proof that Malang still has the best well-managed themed villages. Let's say Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan, Kampung Tridi, and Kampung Kajoetangan, Kampung Biru to name a few.

"The beginning of the year until the end of April has seen an incredible increase in tourist visits," said Isa Wahyudi, Chairman of the Association of Themed Tourism Village in Malang, on Monday, May 1, 2023.

He also mentioned that among the 23 other themed villages in Malang, those the most popular are like Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan, Tridi, and Kajoetangan. These three have experienced a remarkable surge in visitor numbers.

Foreign Tourists Dominate the Visit to this Themed Villages

"On a daily basis, we can have 150 to 400 visitors. Last Eid al-Fitr holiday, it's at least around 300 visitors per day," he explained.

Surprisingly, foreign tourists still dominate the number of visitor on regular days as well as holidays.

"It seems that there are many foreign tourists. Just now, I saw dozens of them here in Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan," he said.

This observation is supported by Agus Kodar, the manager of Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan. He mentioned that foreign tourists continue to be the majority among the visitors to the attraction he manages.

"They usually see it on social media or YouTube. Especially for foreigners. When I ask them, their response is usually 'awesome' or something like that," he said.

He noted that during the one-week period of the Eid al-Fitr holiday alone, Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan welcomed more than 1,000 tourists. On a daily basis, approximately 90 tourists visited the village.

"Especially on regular days, there are many foreign tourists visiting this themed villages. Usually, around 70 to 90 tourists per day, but local visitors are rare," he added.(*)
