Harry Alexander hopes that Indonesian pilgrims can prioritize performing Hajj at a young age considering the long waiting time. In addition, senior age has a high risk factor in performing the physically demanding routine.
BPKH also strives to support Saudi Arabia in improving facilities and infrastructure in Makkah and Madinah to increase the Hajj quota for Indonesia. This is expected to reduce the waiting time for Hajj pilgrimage for Indonesian pilgrims.
However, Asli Chaidir, a member of the Indonesian Parliament's Commission VIII, stated that there is currently no concrete solution to the long waiting time for Hajj pilgrimage. Nevertheless, efforts can be made to increase the Hajj quota, such as the additional 8,000 pilgrims received this year.
He also hopes that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will provide additional seats to Indonesia because Indonesian pilgrims are considered among the best in terms of manners and easy to guide. The management and pilgrims from Indonesia also received a good score of 90.4 percent.
With the awareness of the importance of Hajj financial planning and efforts to increase the number of seat, it is hoped that Indonesian pilgrims, including millennials, can prepare themselves well to perform the Hajj pilgrimage when the time comes.
