The Best Way for Pilgrims for Stoning the Jamarat in Mina According PPIH

TIMESINDONESIA, MAKKAH – Currently, all Indonesian pilgrims are in Mina to perform the rituals of stoning the Jamarat, namely Ula, Wustha, and Kubra. The Hajj Organizer Officials (PPIH) once again remind the pilgrims to pay attention to the schedule, designated time, and routes for stoning the Jamarat that have been determined and assigned according to their respective clusters.
During a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (29/06/2023), the spokesperson for the Central PPIH explained that they urge the pilgrims not to stone the Jamarat after the sun is overhead (ba'da zawal) due to safety reasons and to avoid the risks of hot weather and overcrowding. "Choose the afternoon or evening to prevent exposure to the scorching heat," he said.

It is important for elderly pilgrims and those with high health risks to delegate the act of stoning the Jamarat to their family members, fellow pilgrims, or officials who have already performed the ritual. Fauzin, a representative from PPIH, explained that the person representing the stoning can be someone who has already performed Hajj or someone who hasn't. Pilgrims or officials are allowed to perform the act of stoning on behalf of one person or more, without any limits. This act of delegation is considered valid and does not incur any penalties.
Fauzin added, "It is permissible to delay stoning the Jamarat on the tasyrik days until the last day of the 12th of Zulhijah (for early nafar pilgrims) or the 13th of Dzulhijah (for second nafar pilgrims)." This provides flexibility for the pilgrims to perform the ritual more comfortably and according to their health conditions.
The Indonesian government hopes that the pilgrims will prioritize their safety and health. Fauzin emphasizes the importance of performing the stoning ritual in a safe and orderly manner as a mandatory part of Hajj. Furthermore, the government also reminds the pilgrims to stick together when going to and being at the location of stoning the Jamarat.
Additionally, it is crucial for the pilgrims to stay hydrated by carrying water to maintain their physical well-being and prevent dehydration. "Don't hesitate to seek assistance from officials stationed at each point along the route if encountering any obstacles or difficulties,". (*)
