Yaqut Cholil Qoumas to Enhance Hajj Services for Indonesian Pilgrims

TIMESINDONESIA, MAKKAH – In response to the various issues faced by Indonesian pilgrims in Armina, Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas has reassured his commitment to enhance Hajj services for future pilgrimages. The Ministry of Religion, along with the Saudi Hajj and Umrah Ministry, has formed an investigation team to address the problems and find the solutions.
Following a meeting with Saudi Hajj and Umrah Minister Taufiq F Al-Rabiah, Minister Yaqut expressed his optimism that improvements will be made in the implementation of Hajj next year. He emphasized the seriousness of the issues faced, including problems with tents, departure delays, sanitation, and catering for pilgrims.

The joint investigation team will work diligently to identify the root causes of the issues and propose measures to improve the quality of services in the coming years. The results of the investigation are expected to be released within a week or two.
Furthermore, Minister Yaqut assured his commitment to providing an enhanced experience for Indonesian pilgrims in the current year's Hajj, particularly during the repatriation phase. The Ministry has set a range of dates for this process, from July 4 to August 2, 2023.
Kemenag and the Saudi Hajj and Umrah Ministry aim to collaborate closely to ensure that the quality of Hajj services for Indonesian pilgrims is continually improved in the future. They also seek the support and prayers of the Indonesian community to achieve the desired improvements in service standards. (*)
