TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Imagine stepping into a traditional Javanese Joglo house surrounded by lush greenery, where the tranquil atmosphere invites you to linger. This idyllic setting is precisely what you'll find at D'Limasan Cafe & Eatery, located on Jalan Raya Tlekung, Junrejo.
One of the unique features of D'Limasan Cafe & Eatery is its extensive collection of antiques meticulously displayed in every nook and cranny. But the charm doesn't end there. D'Limasan Cafe & Eatery also boasts a gallery on its lower floor where these antique treasures are showcased, and the best part? There's no additional charge to explore this collection.
As you ascend the staircase, you'll encounter various paintings adorning the walls, boat oars or paddles displayed as artwork, and hundreds of golf balls neatly arranged in glass cases. A square mirror framed in intricately carved wood adds to the vintage ambiance.
Inside the gallery, you'll be greeted by a diverse array of antique items ranging from masks, iron bells, typewriters, sewing machines, rotary dial telephones, bell clocks, to hundreds of miniature cartoon figurines reminiscent of days gone by. On the other side of the gallery, you'll find a collection of wayang (traditional puppets), trunks, printing equipment, and several paintings.
One standout piece in the gallery is the Lotus flower relief painting, the largest in the collection. Measuring 200 x 120 cm, this masterpiece was crafted by MS Wawan, a local artist from Malang, in 2015. It's created on canvas and beautifully framed with carved wooden flowers, exuding a sense of luxury.
Another unique collection is the mosaic artwork made from chicken feathers. These intricate mosaics are created by arranging chicken feathers into patterns or objects that appear astonishingly realistic. The artistic value of these feather mosaics is truly exceptional.
This restaurant is open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, closed on Mondays. In addition to the cafe and art gallery, D'Limasan Cafe & Eatery also offers traditional-style accommodations, making it an ideal place to immerse yourself in both history and nature. (*)
