STAIMA Al Hikam Malang and Thailand's Fatoni University Forge International Collaborations

TIMESINDONESIA, PATTANI – Aiming to amplify international ties, STAI Ma’had Aly Al-Hikam Malang (STAIMA) embarked on an overseas journey to Fatoni University situated in Pattani, Thailand. This landmark visit, occurring on Tuesday (12/9/2023), witnessed the convergence of top-tier officials from both educational institutions.
Representing STAIMA Al Hikam, the delegation was led by Dr. Mochamad Nurcholiq, M.Pd., the institution's head. Accompanying him were notable figures like Prof. Dr. Kasuwi Saiban, M.A.g., the Postgraduate Director, Laily Abida, M.Psi. Psychologist, the First Vice-Chairperson, Edy Hayatullah, S.P., M.M., the Second Vice-Chairperson, and Muhammad Yusron Shiqdi, Lc., M. Ag., the Head of STKQ Al-Hikam Depok.

Warmly greeted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ismail Lutfi Japakiya, Fatoni University's Rector, the gathering also included Asst Prof Dr. Ahmad Umar Japakiya, Asst Prof Dr Sukree Langputeh, the Vice Rectors, along with the heads of Public Relations and Funding Departments.
The collaboration was cemented through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). "We warmly welcome you. After a long journey, it's an honor to have STAIMA representatives here at Fatoni University," stated Ismail Lutfi Capakiya, highlighting the significance of developing knowledge, Islamic brotherhood, and implementing Qur'anic values to realize Islam as a blessing for all.
Echoing the sentiment, Dr. Mochamad Nurcholiq added, “It's our aspiration that this MoU evolves into a more tangible MoA and further educational, faculty, and student research initiatives. Our experiences here, especially concerning endowments and peace studies at Fatoni University, have been invaluable.”
The collaboration touches several facets, including student mobility, joint research, seminars, lectures, publications, and an International Field Practice Program.
Upon contact, Kasuwi Saiban voiced, “STAIMA is broadening its horizons aiming to become the Hasyim Muzadi University. The next logical step would be dispatching faculty and students to Fatoni University.”
Renowned for its linguistic versatility in Arabic, English, Malay, and Thai, Fatoni University has been leading various university associations in Thailand since 2009.
The event culminated in a joint photo session, followed by the bestowal of a memento and the biography of the late KH. Ahmad Hasyim Muzadi. Through this newfound collaboration, both universities anticipate harnessing their mutual potential and steering positive transformation in the realm of education. (*)
