Ahmad Abyan Aushaf Elected as the New Secretary-General of PPI Belanda

TIMESINDONESIA, DEN HAAG – The Indonesian Students Association in the Netherlands (PPI Belanda) successfully convened its General Assembly for the 2022/2023 term at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in The Hague. The assembly focused on accountability reporting and the election of the Secretary-General for the 2023/2024 term, bringing Ahmad Abyan Aushaf into the spotlight as the newly elected official.

This pivotal event attracted attention as it symbolizes a transition to new leadership for the organization. The election was attended by chair persons and presidium members from 16 PPI City branches dispersed across the Netherlands, who gathered to choose a new leader to guide PPI Belanda towards improvement and foster stronger solidarity and collaboration among Indonesian students in the country.

The election, characterized by its smooth and democratic process, witnessed Ahmad Abyan Aushaf emerging victorious as the new Secretary-General of PPI Belanda. As a master’s student at Wageningen University and Research, Aushaf garnered widespread support from representatives of PPI City branches nationwide.

Known affectionately as 'Aby', Aushaf expressed his gratitude to all PPI members for their trust and support. Committed to advancing the organization, he pledged to work diligently to promote activities aimed at strengthening the camaraderie among Indonesian students in the Netherlands.

“We will continuously collaborate with all PPI City branches in the Netherlands. Together, we will create a better environment for Indonesian students here. Considering the Netherlands is home to a considerable number of students and members of the Indonesian diaspora, there is immense potential to be optimized. I am excited to lead PPI Belanda in the upcoming term,” said Aushaf.

With Ahmad Abyan Aushaf at the helm as the new Secretary-General, PPI Belanda anticipates a wave of fresh enthusiasm and innovation within its ranks.
