PPI India Commits to Promote Indonesian Products and General Election

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Representatives from the Indonesian Student Association in India or well known as PPI India attended an event to promote local product in New Delhi. This event was organized by the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi, the Indonesian Representative Council (PPLN) in New Delhi, and the Election Supervisory Board (Panwaslu).
PPI India attended the meeting on New Delhi on Sunday (3/12/2023). The invitation aimed to encourage the Indonesian community in India to familiarize themselves with and promote local products in India as part of the 'Proud Indonesian Products' event.

Indonesian citizens in India, including students and diplomats, responded enthusiastically to the invitation, showcasing a significant turnout. The event was attended not only by students but also by Indonesian citizens, diplomats, and even the ambassadors and deputy ambassadors of the Republic of Indonesia to India.
During the event, diplomats conveyed various messages through direct presentations. In the economic domain, Erry Herjuno, the Counselor, highlighted two major commodities that Indonesia is currently exporting to India: coal and palm oil.
"Coal and palm oil are two prominent commodities that Indonesia is currently exporting to India," stated Erry during the presentation.
Bona Kusuma, the Trade Attaché of the Republic of Indonesia for India which happened to attend the occasion highlighted the close ties between Indonesia and India. In his opinion the bond has resulting in numerous Indonesian products successfully collaborating and establishing factories in India.
Meanwhile Patriot Adinaryo, the Minister Counselor, who discussed Peduli WNI, a website for reporting by Indonesian citizens residing in India. He emphasized the importance of paying attention to the expiry dates of visas and passports as a precautionary measure for Indonesian citizens in India.
Last but not least Arfiendi Juni Jahja, addressing the significance of responsible social media usage, especially during the current pre-election period. "Social media is officially recognized as a campaign medium by the General Election Commission (KPU)," clarified Arfiendi during his presentation.
In the same occasion, Indonesian Ambassador to India and Bhutan, H. Ina Krisnamurthi, conveyed messages to all participants. She urged all Indonesian citizens to cast their votes when the democratic celebration arrives, emphasizing that every vote matters for the future of Indonesia.
The event concluded with an introduction session between students who have just begun their education in India, the Indonesian Ambassador, and other participants, led by the head of PPI India, Fikri.
Adding to the festive atmosphere was a film screening of 'Kejarlah Janji' (Chase the Promise), part of the events organized by PPLN New Delhi. Initiated by the Election Commission, the film, closely related to the election period, garnered significant enthusiasm from the participants.
Panwaslu New Delhi and PPLN New Delhi also give a brief explanation about the upcoming general election in Indonesia. The party will be held during February 2024. For this issue, PPI India commits to support the success of the 2024 elections from India. (*)
