The various kinds of gemstones were one of the reasons behind the establishment of Museum Batu Mulia Nusantara. For your information, this museum is located in the first floor of the rectorate building University of Brawijaya , Jl. Veteran, Ketawanggede, Kec. Lowokwaru, Kota Malang, East Java.

To access this museum you could follow the main road from the front gate of University of Brawijaya, approximately 100 meters from the front gate you could see the rectorate building, the museum itself is in the lobby of the rectorate building.

The Number of the Gemstones

"There are approximately 130 gemstone collections, including famous specimens like Pancawarna, Kecubung, Jesper Ken Dedes, and the magnificent Nabire jade," the Prof. said.

The gemstone collection in this museum displayed very neatly in a wooden display case to protect the gemstone collections from damage caused by external factors. The case is sealed with glass at the front and top so that visitors can still enjoy the gemstones beauty clearly.

This collection of gemstones is arranged in such a way that visitors can see the most unique and rare stones based on their placement. The higher the placement, the rarer and more charming the stone is. While the placement at the bottom indicates that quite a lot of these stones were found during research, that doesn't mean these gemstone collections aren't unique or charming.

More Collections Inside

Surprisingly, this museum is not just about gemstones. It also proudly displays a unique collection of petrified wood and ancient ruins from the historic Singasari Kingdom. It's a treasure trove, offering a glimpse into cultural heritage and incredible geological history. Inviting visitors of all ages to embark on an exciting journey of exploration is a captivating experience.

The exploration conducted by Professor Fadli and his team since 2014 serves as a remarkable expression of their appreciation for Indonesia's hidden natural wealth. Moreover, it stands as a testament to their commitment to education, especially for the younger generation, encouraging them to actively engage in the preservation of Nusantara's natural treasures.

"We, as the nation's next generation, should take a role to keep and preserve Indonesia's natural wealth," Kotok Gurito, head of the public relations and archives sub-division University of Brawijaya, said.
