On Monday, the U-23 national team is scheduled to depart for Dubai to undergo a ten-day training camp.
Coach Shin Tae-yong expressed his appreciation for Erick's support, emphasizing the importance of achieving success in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup this year.
"With the support from PSSI, including the suspension of Liga 1, Chairman Erick Thohir urged us to perform better in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup," said Shin, as quoted from PSSI's official website.
"Today (Sunday) we gather, and tomorrow (Monday) we depart for Dubai. So, I am grateful to Mr. Erick Thohir, the club owners, and the Liga 1 coaches. It is indeed challenging for clubs to release players in the middle of the league season, but once they are released, I believe we must strive our best to advance Indonesian football. Once again, I express my gratitude to Mr. Erick, PSSI, club owners, and Liga 1 coaches," added the South Korean coach.
