TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, through its subsidiary PT Jasamarga Related Business (JMRB), is optimizing the Rest Area Management System (RAMS) technology to monitor traffic density at Rest Areas and Services (RAS) in order to support Eid al-Fitr holiday travel.

The Chief Executive Officer of PT JMRB, Denny Abdurachman, stated that PT JMRB would optimize the vehicle density monitoring technology at rest areas through RAMS, which is available on the Jasamarga Integrated Digitalmap (JID) super app used by Jasa Marga personnel and integrated with Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) on toll road lanes and the Travoy application accessible directly by road users.

"By observing the parking capacity displayed on the DMS and monitoring real-time traffic conditions in the Travoy application, road users can plan their journey and decide whether to stop at the nearest rest area or proceed to the next one. We also urge road users not to force a stop at crowded rest areas and to follow traffic officer instructions, as well as to look for temporary toll road exits to find a rest area before continuing their journey via the toll road," said Denny in Jakarta, on Tuesday.

PT JMRB ensures that the 59 Rest Areas and two Functional Rest Areas under its management can support the smooth flow of Eid al-Fitr holiday traffic in 1445 H/2024 to achieve comfortable driving and a meaningful joyful holiday travel experience.

Denny conveyed that PT JMRB has prepared several traffic engineering schemes and vehicle flow management arrangements for entry and exit at rest areas, including maximizing vehicle parking capacities in line with the increased traffic flow on toll roads during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period in 1445 H/2024.

He said that to anticipate increased traffic flow at Travoy Rest Areas, which also has the potential to cause queues on the main toll road lanes, in accordance with police discretion, they will implement rest area opening and closing traffic engineering.

"The aim is to alleviate congestion and coordinate with toll road segment operators and PT Jasamarga Tollroad Operator (JMTO) as a Jasa Marga subsidiary engaged in toll road operations. We will also regulate the flow of vehicles entering and exiting rest areas, deploy traffic officers, and prepare portable signs," he added.

According to him, road users need not worry about exiting toll roads during their holiday travels, especially for continuous journeys along the Trans Java Toll Road. This is because toll fees on all sections of the Trans Java Toll Road are based on distance traveled, so there is no need to worry about paying tolls twice for exiting and re-entering the toll road.

"Therefore, we request the cooperation of road users to refrain from parking on the roadside around closed rest areas due to crowding. This will reduce toll lane capacity, leading to further congestion," said Denny.

JMRB also advises road users not to linger at rest areas for more than 30 minutes to allow others to take turns. Toll road users are also encouraged to bring provisions or take away food from rest areas.

Enhanced Services at Rest Areas

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, through its subsidiary PT Jasamarga Related Business (JMRB), has revealed that 49 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) at Rest Areas are operational to support Eid al-Fitr holiday travel.

The Chief Executive Officer of PT JMRB, Denny Abdurachman, stated that Jasa Marga has nearly tripled the number of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) in Jasa Marga Group's Rest Areas.

"The number of SPKLU in Jasa Marga rest areas has now reached 49 points, up from the previous 17 points. Eleven of them have been upgraded from normal charging to fast charging, allowing certain types of electric vehicles to be optimally charged within 30 minutes," said Denny in Jakarta, on Tuesday.

While charging their battery, road users can enjoy a variety of facilities and services at the rest area.

Jasa Marga, in collaboration with Pertamina, also ensures the availability of fuel for road users at gas stations in rest areas, including providing Modular Gas Stations at 14 rest area locations, some of which have been adjusted from solar fuel dispensers to Pertamax.

Jasa Marga, along with other stakeholders, also set up 29 health posts in several rest areas to assist visitors in conducting health checks during their journey, in addition to adding 599 functional toilets.

Adequate clean water is also ensured by increasing the supply of clean water in toilets and places of worship, adding 141 traffic management personnel to expedite traffic engineering and vehicle flow management, as well as security personnel on duty 24 hours a day to ensure visitors can rest comfortably at the rest area.

Jasa Marga will also convert men's toilets into women's toilets because long queues tend to occur in women's toilets, and men's toilets will be converted into functional toilets.

With all the operational readiness and service enhancements carried out by the Jasa Marga Group at rest areas, it is hoped that the security of the Eid al-Fitr holiday can proceed smoothly, safely, and comfortably. All toll road users are also encouraged to cooperate in complying with the applicable regulations to create a Meaningful and Joyful Eid Holiday Travel together. (*)
