TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Prof. Dr. Arif Satria, not only the Chairman of the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI) Central and the Rector of IPB University but also a visionary leader, recently embarked on a visit to Budapest. This visit wasn't just about official meetings; it was about empowering the Indonesian student community in Hungary, particularly those associated with the Indonesian Student Association (PPI Hungary).

His visit aimed at signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between IPB University and the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences MATE, but it also had a deeper purpose of connecting with the Indonesian students studying abroad.

During his visit to MATE, the professor engaged in discussions with Indonesian students, facilitated by the International Office of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Marhadi, a representative of PPI Hungaria, expressed his gratitude for this opportunity, highlighting the rarity of such interactions with Indonesian officials.

These discussions were more than just dialogues; they were sources of inspiration and empowerment for Indonesian students. Prof. Arif Satria shared insights about Indonesia Emas 2045, emphasizing the role of youth in shaping the nation's future. He stressed the importance of leadership qualities and encouraged students to broaden their horizons by studying abroad and actively participating in organizations like PPI.

Moreover, Prof. Arif Satria's engagement extended beyond formal meetings. He attended a dinner with the executives of PPI Hungaria and Indonesian students in Budapest, fostering camaraderie and strengthening ties within the community.

Furthermore, PPI Hungary planned to invite the professor to be a keynote speaker at the 16th World International Symposium of PPI in Budapest. This symposium, gathering representatives from 65 PPI countries worldwide, will provide a platform to showcase the achievements and aspirations of Indonesian students abroad.

The engagement with PPI Hungary isn't just a one-time event; it's a step towards building a stronger network and community for Indonesian students studying in Hungary. It's about nurturing future leaders who will contribute not only to Indonesia but also to the global community. Prof. Arif Satria's visit exemplifies the commitment to empowering Indonesian youth and fostering international cooperation for a brighter tomorrow. (*)
