Mahira's Journey
Mahira, the daughter of Suhaimi Abdullah and Hasnawati Abdullah, has been dreaming of this moment since she was 12 years old. Now, after seven years of anticipation, she is preparing to embark on a spiritual journey to the Holy Land that she believes will transform her life.
With meticulous preparation in every aspect, especially in terms of her health and mental readiness, Mahira hopes that her pilgrimage goes smoothly and is accepted by Allah.
“After this, I hope to perform Umrah, and most importantly, may my Hajj be accepted as a Hajj Mabrur,” she said with a heart full of hope.
Mahira not only prays for herself but also offers special prayers for her parents, wishing that Allah blesses them with health and happiness.
Abdul Rafar's Pilgrimage
On the other side of the airport, 91-year-old Abdul Rafar, an elderly pilgrim from Aceh, also shared his joy at arriving in the Holy Land. Despite his frail body, his spirit remains undiminished. With slow steps and the aid of a walking stick, he is determined to undertake this sacred journey.
“I still have energy and spirit, and I am grateful to be here, accompanied by my son, Jufri,” Abdul Rafar said with a firm voice.
Abdul Rafar praised the Hajj officials for their services and expressed his hope that the services could be further improved in the future, especially for elderly pilgrims like himself.
The stories of Mahira and Abdul Rafar for Hajj 2024 highlight the deep spiritual commitment and resilience of Indonesian pilgrims from Aceh. Both young and old, they embark on their pilgrimage with hopes and prayers, exemplifying the enduring faith and dedication of the Muslim community in Indonesia. (*)
