"Alhamdulillah, we have received 100 wheelchairs from the central PPIH, transported together with the JKG 42 flight group. All items have been checked and are complete," Abdillah announced on Saturday, May 1, 2024.
The wheelchairs will be swiftly transported by truck to various operational areas in need, providing crucial support to elderly pilgrims.
This initiative is part of the Elderly-Friendly Hajj Program, which aims to facilitate a more comfortable pilgrimage experience for senior participants. The program is particularly focused on the Armuzna phase, known for its demanding conditions.
"We are committed to ensuring that these wheelchairs will significantly assist elderly pilgrims in performing their Hajj rituals with greater ease and comfort," Abdillah emphasized.
The Makkah Work Area (Daker) will manage the distribution and use of the wheelchairs, ensuring they reach those who need them most. "The Daker Makkah team will oversee the allocation and use of these wheelchairs, making sure every elderly pilgrim requiring assistance can access one," Abdillah explained.
This initiative highlights the dedication to creating a supportive environment for all Hajj 2024 pilgrims, particularly the elderly, ensuring their spiritual journey is as comfortable and accessible as possible. (*)
