Indonesian Hajj 2024 Pilgrims Urged to Adhere to Regulations in Madinah

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Widi Dwinanda, a member of the Media Center of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, has issued a reminder to Indonesian Hajj 2024 pilgrims regarding photography and symbolic gestures. Pilgrims are advised against taking pictures or posing with group symbols or flags, particularly in front of the Prophet Muhammad's tomb and other areas within the Prophet's Mosque (Masjid Nabawi).
In related news, the return phase of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage has begun. The second wave of pilgrims is now departing from Madinah, following the completion of the first wave from Jeddah. This year's Hajj saw a significant number of participants, with 1.8 million pilgrims in total, making Indonesia the largest contributor from Asia.

Widi emphasized that the Saudi authorities will strictly enforce the rules and take firm actions against any violations. He called on the heads of Hajj groups, group officials, and the Hajj and Umrah Guidance Groups (KBIHU) to continuously educate their members about the regulations imposed by the Saudi government while in Madinah.
He advised pilgrims to focus on worship and take advantage of the opportunity to perform additional religious activities while in the Prophet's Mosque. This reminder underscores the importance of adhering to the spiritual and respectful conduct expected in such a holy place.
Furthermore, Widi provided an update on the return phase of Indonesian pilgrims. The first wave of the return phase took place from June 22, 2024, to July 4, 2024. During this period, a total of 88,936 Indonesian pilgrims, organized into 229 groups, returned home. Out of these, 183 groups departed from King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, while 46 groups flew out from Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz (AMAA) Airport in Madinah.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs in Jakarta also highlighted the effectiveness of the "Kawal Haji" application, a technological innovation aimed at providing optimal service to Hajj pilgrims. This app has proven valuable in addressing the concerns and complaints of the 2024 Hajj pilgrims, ensuring a smoother and more organized experience.
The Ministry continues to support Indonesian pilgrims, ensuring their safety and comfort during their spiritual journey. The emphasis on proper conduct, adherence to regulations, and utilization of technological tools reflects the Ministry's commitment to enhancing the Hajj 2024 experience for Indonesian pilgrims. (*)
