What makes this local delicacies stand out in this modern era is its nostalgic value. Even though many new food trends such as fusion burgers, ramen, and other experimental dishes have gained popularity, it remains a popular choice.

This is mainly because it holds sentimental value for many customers, some of whom have been coming to the stall for years.

Many of these customers were brought to the stall by their parents when they were children, and now, they bring their own children to enjoy the same dish. The tradition of introducing orem-orem to the next generation has played a major role in keeping this dish relevant and loved by the people of Malang.

In a world where food trends come and go, orem-orem stands as a reminder of the power of tradition and family. The consistent taste, the connection to the past, and the love passed down through generations make this dish much more than a dish. It is a symbol of cultural identity that continues to thrive, proving that the simplest foods can carry the greatest meanings. (*)
